Why I created this site in Windows Notepad

Why go to the trouble of creating an entire web site with Windows Notepad, tediously typing in, or copying and pasting, every line of code?

I've been redesigning this site as my project for a Webmaster Certification Program I've been enrolled in at Florida State University. A requirement of the project web site is that the HTML be edited in Windows Notepad or some other basic text editor.

So that's why I'm typing in all this code by hand. I haven't lost my mind -- it's required.

I produced all the graphics with PaintShop Pro by Jasc Software.

As for HTML editors, I have used Netscape Composer with reasonable results, but still find that hand coding HTML gives me more control over the pages I'm writing.

My HTML editor of choice, once I've completed this program, will be HOMESITE, a terrific HTML text editor produced by the Allaire Corporation. You have to know your HTML to use it, but it automatically inserts codes at the click of a button, saving you boodles of time.
