No report on how long the Monks have been here or how many colonies there are, but below is a photo of one nest taken by Steve Rogovich in October, 1996.

This particular nest, on Bedford Avenue, is located on one of the Monks' favorite nesting sites -- underneath a transformer. Four birds are perching on the power lines.
